CUSD Budget Update

by Denise on November 29, 2011

Dr. Devin Vodicka has posted an updated budget. With the Net effect of the board-approved adjustments amounting to $2.26M, that brings the estimated deficit to $8.3M.

Among many other cuts, Carlsbad Unified School District will be reducing administrative management, eliminating various school programs and reducing the special education budget. Also, because California tax revenues are not meeting projections, midyear trigger reductions are looming. It’s unknown what the financial impact to CUSD will be, but the summary says the CA Dept of Finance will do an independent review and make recommendations on k-12 cuts in December.

Please take a look at Dr. Vodicka’s presentation for more information.
